The Change Up When a family man swaps bodies with his best friend (a single, ne'er do well actor), both men make considerable adjustments to make their lives work, and when they ultimately reverse the spell, they are able to embrace their old lives with a new appreciation. Tower Heist A group of regular guys who work as staff in an ultra-luxe New York City high-rise pull off a daring heist to steal 20 million dollars from the billionaire who lives in the penthouse, after he's revealed to be a Bernie Madoff-esque criminal who has stolen billions, including their pension. Happy Gilmore A hockey player finds success when he brings his famous swing and foul temperament to the world of professional golf. In Bruges Two Brit hitmen hide out in Belgium and await orders from their boss. Role Models A pair of party hearty beer salesmen are forced into the role of big brothers to fulfill a community service obligation and end up bonding with the teenagers.

Narrativized Strategic Choice (eBook, ePUB)

In February 2019, Donald Trump announced the United States withdrew from the landmark Cold War-era Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with Russia sparking worldwide concerns over the specter of a new nuclear arms race. The rational-actor and game-theoretic models dominating international relations literature failed to predict or explain this strategic choice. Rationalist, normative, and materialist models of strategic choice saturate the study of international relations. Scholars continue to expose the shortfalls in these approaches in explaining or predicting outcomes of strategic interactions. In this timely study, John P. DeRosa advances a new model of strategic choice through a narrative lens. This narrative turn reframes the logic to emphasize the propositions of motives, perceptions, preferences, and the reflexive interaction of strategic choices. Case studies of American and Russian nuclear arms control treaties from the negotiations of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty in 1987 to the crisis of the US withdrawal from the INF Treaty in 2019 support building a theory of "narrativized" strategic choice.

The actor Carey Mulligan always shied away from playing Victorian heroines because she didn't want to get typecast — now with Far from the Madding Crowd, she's found a character feminist enough to overcome that fear. And speaking of feminism, artist and science journalist Maia Weinstock noticed the lack of good female role models in LEGO sets, so she decided to make her own. And the Tonys are almost here! We round up Kurt's conversations with Broadway's brightest creative minds. [Broadcast Date: June 6, 2015] 1. Language: English. Narrator: Kurt Andersen. The New York Stories of O. Henry (Dramatised), ...

O. Henry is the acknowledged master of the short story form and the four stories told here are charming, witty and shrewd in their observation. In nearly every New York story, someone has, however shy and hidden, the desire to create. Love, forgiveness, and tolerance run like gold threads through the fabric of the stories. The stories are models of compression, plot, and characterization. O. Henry has had many imitators but no equals. Bostonian actor Ed Bishop reads with great understanding and sensitivity. Includes "A Cosmopolitan in a Cafe", "The Cop and the Anthem", "The Last Leaf", and "A Technical Error". 1. Language: English. Narrator: Ed Bishop.
