The 1970s and 1980s punk music in Slovenia was amazing. It was very unique in the Communist East. And very unique in the whole world! ‘Children of Socialism’, ‘Ljubljana Dogs’, ‘Bastards’, ‘Berlin Wall’, ‘Ciao Bitches!’, ‘The Tattletales’ and ‘Niet’, these are just a few names of the bands that were turning an alternative scene into an opposition movement. And who is a better person to explain all about those crazy days than Esad Babačić, a working-class baker boy from an immigrant family who became a singer and lyricist of ‘Via Ofenziva’. Beaten up and imprisoned several times by the Communist authorities, Babačić is today a critically acclaimed poet, journalist and film actor. Join him on a ride back to his youth, accompanied by amazing music and touching poetry.
