When 007 goes to Harlem it’s not just for the jazz. This is the kingdom of Mr Big, master of crime, voodoo baron and partner in SMERSH’s grim company of death. Those who Mr Big cannot possess, he crushes – like his beautiful prisoner, Solitaire, and her would-be saviours James Bond and Agency man, Felix Leiter. All three are marked out as victims in a trail of terror, treachery and torture that leads from New York’s underworld to the shark-infested island in the sun that Mr Big calls his own. Ian Fleming was born in London in 1908. He was educated at Eton and worked as a journalist in Moscow and a banker and stockbroker in London before becoming personal assistant to the Director of Naval Intelligence during the Second World War. He wrote his first Bond novel, Casino Royale, in 1952 at Goldeneye, his home in Jamaica. Since then James Bond has gone on to become a global phenomenon. Rory Kinnear, a renowned theatre actor, won the Evening Standard Award for Best Actor for his performances as Angelo in Measure for Measure and the title role in Hamlet, and gained an Olivier Award for his portrayal of Sir Fopling Flutter in The Man of Mode. Although a soldier by profession, I have never felt any sort of fondness for war, and I have never advocated it, except as a means of peace.” - GrantHere is a griping, intimate audio encounter with one of the greatest figures in American history. Forget what biased biographers have written, and listen to the man speaking for himself. The public figure we all know at least something about, but the private man, the family man, the father, and son has been hidden to us by the passing of time. This is a true audio treasure. What Grant has to say so long ago is oddly relevant, touching, and even inspirational now as it was then, so many generations ago. Each play revolves around a powerful young female character, who has the power to control and captivate men, but who in turn is destroyed by the exercise of that power. In Castle Wetterstein, that role is represented by Effie, the young daughter of a bourgeois widow, who is being courted by the man who killed her late husband in a duel. Later in the play Effie becomes, like Wedekind’s most celebrated heroine, Lulu, a sacrificial victim on the altar of profane love.Cast: Rüdiger, Baron Wetterstein - Russell GoldLeonore von Gystrow - P J MorganEffie and the Housemaid - Amanda FridayMeinrad Luckner and Chagnaral Tschamper of Atakama - Noel BadrianVan Zeeter (hotel manager) and Professor Dr. Scharlach - John BurlinsonDuvoisin (police inspector) and Karl Salzmann - Ron AltmanMatthais Taubert - David StifelWaiter and Schigabet - Alan WeymanHeiri Wipf and WaldemarUhlhorst - Andy HarringtonNarrator - Denis DalyAudio edited by Denis Daly N N ©2017 Ian Johnston;(P)2019 The Online Stage http://www.audible.de/pd/B07P1B1HLY?source_code=PNHFA145032019009G&ipRedirectOverride=true http://www.audible.de/pd/B07P1B1HLY?source_code=PNHFA145032019009G&ipRedirectOverride=true The Importance of Trust in a Relationship (Unabridged) 4.95 AVAILABLE The Importance of Trust in a Relationship (Unabridged) The Importance of Trust in a Relationship (Unabridged) Eleanor Nickerson Pete and Anna were deeply in love.
